Among the formats that Powerpoint will save presentations is one called "Windows Metafile" or *.wmf. Windows Metafile format is a funky, pseudo vector-based format that really isn't supported in many applications, but it can be used to transfer imagery between Office applications. This is the same format that allows you to create 3D effects in Powerpoint. (Did you know that you can cut and paste those 3D components directly into Flash and that they become editable vector objects, not bitmaps? You didn't? Give it a try.
