Tutorial: Running other files from the Flash projector environment

As you've probably discovered, the standalone projector environment can only launch other executables. That's why I created this executable and accompanying text file that allow you to call any type of file from the projector environment. Just edit the text file to reference the appropriate file.

As long as the file you're trying to launch (HTML page, Web page, Powerpoint preso, whatever) is accessible and is registered to a default application (e.g., *.pdf are registered to be opened by Acrobat on the users machine), this will allow you to launch practically anything from the projector environment. Just call the exe with the FSCommand "Exec."

If you need to create multiple "launchers," it's easy. Just make sure the two files have the a corresponding name (name.exe and name.txt, name2.exe and name2.txt).
