Tutorial: Resolving the dreaded Red X when embedding Macromedia
Flash inside of a Microsoft Powerpoint presentation (Step 3)
Location,
location, location. No not real estate. It's the location of the
preso in relation to the movie. If
you didn't embed the movie, you can get a red X if the preso loses
connection with the original movie. You can also get a red X if
the URL for the movie is not hard coded. Relational directories
(not hard coded) can cause the preso to lose the movie rather easily,
so it's wise to always hard code the location.
